Broker Dealer Price Server [INFODYNE Corporation]

The Broker Dealer Price Server (BDPS) is a value added server applicationwhich Reuter clients would find advantages for use with their Triarchsystem. The BDPS identifies, tracks and extracts information values fromdealer contributed page data available from the Reuter IDN database. TheBDPS is capable of identifying and tracking chosen 'string identifiers'located on Reuter Pages. Once located, the BDPS extracts 'bid' and 'ask'prices located on the same line (or row) the string identifier was foundon, and creates logical data records containing these values. Logicalrecords are then published over TRIARCH for retrieval by applications,which request them using the record names that were assigned to themduring configuration. If the items are relocated to other identifiablepositions on the same page, or to other pages altogether, the BDPSautomatically relocates the string identifier and continues to publishthe bid and ask values with a real-time update sent to networkapplications.The BDPS obtains and provides real-time information via Triarch throughthe use of the Source Sink Library toolkit. The BDPS acts as a Sinkapplication for obtaining data using the Sink SSL, and as a Sourceapplication for providing data using the Source SSL. Ultimately, theBDPS adds value to the Reuters page data by organizing it into easilyobtainable references which are directly accessible by clientapplications as logical data. The BDPS was developed for the Sun SparcFamily Computers, and is compatible with Solaris. The BDPS is alsodependent on SSL 3.01, IDN Record Templates, and the Triarch's Selectfeedsource product.
